Warp VR · Co-founder & CTO
From first prototype to a bootstrapped VR company.
More than a series of projects: a company I co-founded, with working technology at its foundation and a product designed to help others create VR training.
Make the idea tangible
While running VR Heroes, I built interactive 360° training prototypes for an evacuation-training pilot at KLM Engineering & Maintenance’s Hangar 14 and a resuscitation-procedure training pilot for AMC. Our partners brought filming, learning design and commercial expertise. I built the technology that made the pilots possible.
Learn before scaling
My contribution was turning ideas into working applications quickly. That meant we could test their value before investing in a polished product. Building the technology ourselves helped us establish Warp VR without external investment.
Turn a service into a product
We wanted customers and partners to create VR training themselves. I continued developing the application while coordinating its integration with a platform initially built by an external agency. I made early architecture choices, including AWS and a security foundation that would support conversations with enterprise customers.
Build the team and the foundations
As revenue grew, I recruited developers and moved from hands-on development towards product leadership and the CTO role. Alongside the product, I worked with my network on customer agreements, privacy information and infrastructure documentation. This helped us address the requirements of customers such as Shell and Erste Bank.
Build a company, not just a prototype
By the time I left, Warp VR had grown into a fully bootstrapped company of 10 people. The through-line was spotting opportunities, making them tangible and putting the people and foundations in place to keep developing them.
